After rolling over fifteen times the EuroMillions was finally won by a single ticket in the UK yesterday, 12th July. At the moment it is not known if the winner is an individual or a syndicate.
The winning numbers for yesterday’s mega lottery were 17, 19, 38, 42, 45 and the Lucky Stars 9 and 10.
A spokesman for the UK National Lottery said, ‘This is amazing news. We are absolutely delighted that a UK ticket holder has scooped the entire €185million jackpot, which at the current exchange rate is a massive £161 million.”
‘This is the biggest winner this country and Europe has ever seen and follows hot on the heels of the anonymous ticket-holder who last October scooped £113m. We’ve got the champagne on ice and look forward to welcoming the ticket-holder or holders into the National Lottery millionaires’ club,’ he said. The spokesman also confirmed that the rollover has generated a massive £100 which will be donated to Good Causes.
Twelve other lottery players will be popping open bottles of champagne; a total of eleven players were super lucky thanks to the Jackpot Cap and won a massive £2.14 million each as the second tier prize when they matched all the five numbers and the Lucky Star.
One other UK lottery player with the ticket number YFH800066 won £1,000,000 with the Millionaire Raffle which guarantees a millionaire every week.
The £166 million win is the biggest ever in the UK and until last night’s win, the record was held by an anonymous lottery player who won £113 million in October 2010.
The jackpot for EuroMillions lottery is now back at £13,000,000 for 15th July and tickets are priced at £2 per line of numbers.
