32 Red wins Dispute against William Hill

32Red Plc the company behind brands like 32Red Casino and 32Red Bingo have successfully taken action against William Hill for infringement of 32 Reds European community registered trademark. William Hill is the owner of the 32Vegas Casino brand which this whole dispute revolves around.

The judgement passes was that the 32Vegas Casino signs were sufficiently similar to that of 32Red Casino to cause confusion amongst consumers. Apparently this court case has been going on for a period of 2 years and has been kept pretty low profile. Both 32Red and William Hill have very good reputations in the UK Casino market.

32Red Casino are the recipients of a number of industry related awards which probably prompted the legal action. I am sure that they would want to maintain their uniqueness. The court has not yet passed a ruling as to what is to happen but 32Red are reported to be looking for an injunction to prevent usage of the 32Vegas marks within the Eu and to seen repayment of legal costs.

This does appear to be quite a unique case with some interesting results and we look forward to seeing what the final outcome of this matter will be.
