Playtech signs deal with Gala

International software giant Playtech has signed an agreement with Gala Coral, owner and operator of Gala Bingo and Gala Casino to provide them with a gaming platform and casino games.

The deal is a first for Playtech as the company typically signs with single product operators providing them with either casino software or poker software while the deal with Gala is a comprehensive one that covers the company’s entire spectrum of gaming business.

According to the terms of the agreement, Playtech will provide Gala with a full range of gaming products along with the IMS gaming platform which offers full player management and back office tools. Additionally, Gala Bingo will migrate to the Virtue Fusion platform as part of the agreement.

Playtech CEO Mor Weizer, "This deal recognises our platform's technological leadership and we are confident it will provide Gala Coral with the player management tools and functionality to drive its entire online business".

Gala Coral has over 2,000 betting shops, land based bingo halls along with land based casinos. In addition, the gaming giant has a significant presence online with Gala Casino, Gala Bingo along with Gala Poker and a sports betting product. The company also has an international presence through the Eurobet brand.

The deal with Playtech will give Gala access to advanced management tools across the bingo, poker, casino and sports betting businesses and is expected to migrate to the Playtech platform in the first half of 2012. Prior to the agreement Gala was an existing licensee of Playtech through the GTS platforms and operates 6,500 gaming terminals which use Videobet software.
