888 Gaming Chairman to Step Down

888 Holdings have been in the news quite a bit this year. The latest news though can not be good news for them. The Chairman of 888 Holdings and some say guiding light has decided to step down. Gigi Levy has according to reports decided to leave 888 with the company well positioned for the future. British Media reports are saying that it is due to frustration over the takeover talks with Ladbrokes but then the British Media do have newspapers to sell. 888 Holdings are the owners and operators of numerous gaming brands and have been one of the pre eminent gaming companies in the online gambling world for a number of years.

Mr. Levy was instrumental in bringing on board the online bingo facet of 888 Holdings business and it certainly dominates the UK market. They are now gradually starting to look at other countries like Sweden and Spain. 888 have also made a recovery in the Poker sector with the release of their new 3d Poker product. The major success story of recent times though has been bingo and the prominence they have achieved with top rated brands like Wink Bingo and Redbus Bingo in the United Kingdom.

In recent times there have been a number of bids for 888 Holdings, most notably by the pre eminent British Bookmaker - Ladbrokes and Playtech. We judge that the Playtech offer was all about PR as their bid was significantly lower than the bid by Ladbrokes so we are not sure how they could have expected to succeed where Ladbrokes failed.

According to reports Mr Levy will commit up to 50% of his time for the next 6 months in order to assist a new incoming CEO and will remain on the board of 888 Holdings.
