Microgaming Casinos pull out of USA

The recent action taken by the Federal Government in the United States against US poker sites seems to have had a ripple effect. It seems now that a large majority of Microgaming Casinos have decided to shut down their US facing online casino sites.

The first in what could be a massive exit from the US online casino market was the All Slots USA Casino program. Another noticeable absentee from the US market are Casinos such as Jackpot City and Gaming Club. They have decided to end the practice of referring all US traffic to their sites onwards to a RTG Casino partner.

The action taken by the US government has made it literally impossible for players to make a purchase via a convenient means at a US Casino. The US government has not yet made Online Gambling illegal, they have via UIGEA simply made the funding part of it illegal.

This action whilst certainly understandable does leave a gap in the market that is going to be exploited in a similar fashion as to when the large players left the US poker market. Operators on Real Time Gaming as well as Bodog still operate in the United States leaving players with some options to continue their gaming.

There has already been some controversy amongst the webmaster community in regards to the All Slots USA program closing down. It seems that the program has simply sent on player details to a third party to market another Casino product to the entire US market database. This is a very unethical thing to do and is probably one of the best reasons for legislation and regulation in this industry.

The All Slots USA program should be ashamed if this is true as it would appear that it has engaged in spamming and misuse of players details by sending on details to a 3rd party.

We do hope that the current climate in the United States changes and that regulation is looked at seriously. Until such time that this is in place the current unfavorable climate will continue to exist with no one winning especially the US online casino consumer.
