BCLC to Commence Responsible Gambling Program
The British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) is set to begin a new pioneering responsible gambling program that is designed to assist the players to make well-informed selection with regards to online gaming.
BCLC said that by combining responsible play education, information about all of the company's lottery games, and the risks connected with gambling, the players will be able to make erudite decisions regarding their gaming behavior and choice.
The gambling program will also contain public service television advertisements for the first time in British Columbia where the viewers will be privy to an exclusive series of advertisements asking them to 'use their GameSense'.
GameSense makes use of both online and offline resource material, with GameSense information centers operating in casino gaming establishments and community gaming centers throughout the province, and committed knowledgeable staff within gaming facilities.
Michael Graydon, BCLC President & CEO said that GameSense is really about balancing the fun element of play and individual choice with the need to exercise a sense of control and stay within one's boundaries when participating in games of chance. The TV adverts represent the first ever responsible gambling television messages to appear in BC, and BCLC is extremely proud that they have been deemed important enough to have received Public Service Announcement status from the Television Bureau of Canada.
GameSense information centers will be manned by its dedicated and well-informed staff and shall operate in casino gaming establishments, community gaming centers and within gaming facilities throughout British Columbia.
To further provincially funded resources, including the problem gambling helpline and free counseling services when they are required will get an added impetus with GameSense.
Jon Kelly, Responsible Gambling Council CEO said that the introduction of the GameSense innovation will make essential problem gambling prevention information much more friendly, appealing and accessible. GameSense also reflects BCLC's ongoing commitment to provide gaming entertainment in a socially responsible manner in communities around the province.
The responsible play message, “Know your limit, play within it,” is incorporated on all BCLC's sale and promotion materials.
Earlier this year, CryptoLogic Limited signed a strategic partnership with Gaming Technology Solutions. The partnership also saw CryptoLogic games being provided to GTS customers through its games platform, Enhanced Gaming Engine (EdGe).
Based upon the partnership with GTS, CryptoLogic Limited has announced the signing of a multi-year deal with Victor Chandler, Gibraltar based bookmaker, to provide it with at least ten of its most popular online slot games.
In the third quarter of 2009, the first set of games, both branded and non-branded, will be made available through GTS and will hit the marquee and the remaining slot games shall be released over the remaining period of this year.
