GTECH wins Mega Millions lottery contract

Nebraska Lottery, which runs the popular Mega Millions lottery and the Powerball lottery, has  awarded a six year contract to GTECH Corporation and GTECH Printing Corporation (GPC), subsidiaries of the lottery giant, the Lottomatica Group. The agreement is expected to net GETCH with revenues to the tune of $50 million.

According the agreement, GTECH will provide Nebraska Lottery with a comprehensive online / instant lottery system, terminals, communications network, full service instant-ticket printing, logistical support and ongoing services. The contract is expected to take effect on 1st July 2011 and includes the option of four one-year extensions.

The Enterprise Series Solution developed by GTECH which includes tools to increase sales will also be used to support Nebraska Lottery’s business plan. A total of 1,200 lottery terminals will be installed and maintained under the terms of the agreement. Additionally, GTECH will operate and maintain the central communications system and will offer assistance in terms of marketing strategies, product planning, sales analysis and market research.

The Lottomatica Group is one of the largest lottery operators in the world with subsidiaries like GTECH and GTECH G2 which provides online lottery, sports betting, poker, online bingo, and casino games which include online slots, table games, video poker and scratchcards. Nebraska Lottery is run by the Nebraska government and is a member of the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) and hosts lottery games including Mega Millions lottery, Powerball lottery and Nebraska Pick 5 amongst others.
