EuroMillions Lottery Jackpot Unclaimed

The EuroMillions jackpot worth £113 million remains unclaimed a week after it was won by a ticket holder in the UK. The jackpot, if won by an individual, would make the winner the Britain’s 589th richest person and has already accrued a further £60,000 in interest.

A spokesman for Camelot, the operator of EuroMillions in the UK, has said that they are not particularly concerned that a winner has yet to come forward with the magic ticket. "We've had lots of winners who've been on holiday and some people get into a routine of only checking their ticket when they buy a new one." However, should the lottery jackpot remain unclaimed after October 22nd the operator will identify the region where it was bought but ensure that the identity of the winner is not jeopardized.

If the lottery jackpot of £113 million remains unclaimed for 180 days, it will go to the Good Causes fund which, to date, has raised billions for charity. Until a claim is made on the prize, the money will earn interest in Camelot’s bank account and will eventually go towards Good Causes. At the moment it is unclear if the winner is an individual or a syndicate.

Last week’s EuroMillions was a rollover of the £82 million Mega Draw from the week before and tonight lottery players have the opportunity to win £12 million. As always, the £2 ticket gives players in the UK an automatic entry into the Millionaires Raffle which guarantees a millionaire every week. EuroMillions has a total of twelve prizes and the top three offer life changing amounts of cash. Going by previous £12 million jackpots, the second tier prize which is won when five main numbers and a luck star are matched should be worth nearly £700,000 while the third tier prize will be worth approximately £95,000.
