The jackpot value for tonight’s EuroMillions lottery will stay capped after rolling over a total of 14 times. The jackpot has reached its limit of £166 million however the second tier prizes will continue to rise.
A National Lottery spokeswoman said, "The massive £166m jackpot is still waiting to be won, and all eyes now focus on tonight’s draw. In addition to the chance to win this life-changing prize, we could also see several UK millionaires created in the next prize level down."
Last week, though no ticket was able to match the winning numbers of 12, 13, 23, 40, 49 and Lucky Stars 7, 10 there were a total of 7.6 million winners two UK lottery players won £3.3 million each as the second tier prize when they matched five main numbers and one Lucky Star. The identity of one of the winners will be revealed this week.
According to the UK National Lottery, the second tier prizes were boosted due to the jackpot cap and typically, the estimated prize value for that tier is about £211,000. The EuroMillions lottery has a total of thirteen levels of prizes and last Friday a total of 4,463,502 players won the thirteenth level prize.
With the jackpot still unclaimed, ticket sales are hitting all time highs and according to Camelot, 900 tickets were sold every second on Friday at its busiest time. Beat the rush and buy tickets either online or at your local retailer.
